Very good points sonny, but the "not touching your hosts hookah" rule will prevent any accidents involving improper handing. Id add that trying to puff on a hookah like a cigar is sometimes considered offensive and is ineffective, you should draw the smoke with your lungs. Be sure not to take on more smoke than you can handle,as coughing excessively can also be considered offensive.

If you are smoking you should know all of these rules. The one not listed, hopefully everyone just knows it, is not to do anything to a hookah that is not yours. Very often a guest will try to work coals or adjust hoses, ending mostly in burnt floors. Also, please don't tell stories while working a single hose. The only thing people will hear is the silence where water should be rumbling.
