I bought the black one - If you plan on buying this keep in mind that the ones other than silver have a bit wider base - I also saw that some people said it burnt their shisha - - - keep in mind this wind block traps in the heat - Therefore you wont need to use as many coals, and i have found that the coals last a bit longer :
those of you burning your shisha with a wind cover use less coal - I thought that was common knowledge with a wind cover -
Looks great, wished they pictured it in black here, I think more folks would like it in that color if they could see it in that color - I have not found the lack of a handle to be a problem: just grab it from the bottom - I have not once yet found it to be too hot to handle from there definitely hot at the top, though - I must admit I wished it had been a little bit taller though - Using a Melech Regal pipe, with a Alien Mini Funnel bowl about 1 - 25" less than the height of a DVD case from tray floor to bowl top -sorry: no ruler handy, it has a tendency to push the coals from the edge to the middle of the bowl - I found this small shortcoming fairly easy to address - First, I started keeping a layer of coals in the tray, and that did the trick, then I ultimately fashioned a simple wood insert, ~1 - 5" thick, to place underneath the tray - Overall, totally worth it - After all, why buy a beautiful hookah, just to cap it off with a gaudy cheapo wind cover?
For looks, it is a wonder - However, there is no handle which makes coal management very hard - The cover gets quite hot and requires gloves/sleeves to take it off without burning yourself - With as hot as it got, it seemed to cook the shisha too fast -
This is a must-have even if you don't smoke hookah outside! When smoking inside, just as the coals are dying, put it on, and the smoke will thicken and last longer! It also functions great for smoking outside as well, of course - The Taj makes the hookah look very impressive, And it takes a lot to make my Mya Gyro look any more impressive than it already does - I wish the black had been in stock when I purchased, but the silver is beautiful!
While Im happy with the intended function of this cover, the one I received looks nothing like the picture. The one in the picture looks like something youd see atop indian architecture, the one I received looks like a football. Its almost like the one pictured is squashed vertically by 15%.The one pictured looks almost phalic couldnt wait for my wife to sigh when she saw it, the one shipped looks like a conquestador helmet almost.
I thought this cover looked great and was really excited, but when using it, I found that the cover got EXTREMELY hot, and the shisha was really harsh. :( There is no handle, so I had to use a cloth to take it off. I used it with my 3-hose Mya Vortex, so maybe you'll have better luck with another, but I wouldn't buy it.
This is gonna sound stupid but because of the shape of the cover it distorts your reflection in a really awesome way and I really like that about it, I bought the black one and having this big widened reflection in it makes it even cooler to look at. The heat retention is excellent and I disagree about needing to use gloves to remove this thing, all you need to do is pick it up near the bottom and away from where your coals are sitting in the bottom of the tray. Either that some people just need to harden up... On the downside I have 3 kids of bowls to go with my 2 hookahs (a KM Pharonie and some piece of crap I bought here in Perth, Western Australia) and of those 3 bowls the wind cover will only fit over the standard small clay bowl even tho this is the largest wind cover available from H-S.
Great but its very large which is good because it fits over most of my bowls except for the vortex
I got one of these covers in black to go with a hookah i purchased not too long ago...Comes packaged in a white cardboard box, wrapped in bubble wrap. There were no blemishes on the cover and it looks absolutely gorgeous!! Heat retention is very good, haven't had any problems yet.
It looks awesome and serves it's purpose, no complaints!
great looks and function and the best thing is it fits over a tangiers phunnel bowl
When I first got this thing it was a lot bigger than i thought it was going to be. but it works GREAT. The heat retention is awesome and it allows the golden coals to burn for a good time.
It's big, it's stylish, I love it, except for one thing. If you want to move the coals around or put new ones on, you're going to need gloves or to get creative because there is no handle and it gets HOT. It's a no brainer, but be warned.
The styling of this windcover is by far the best i've ever seen and the large size has the perfect balance between wind protection and heat retention allowing you to leave the cover on during the entire smoking session is desired. the metal used is very thick and very sturdy, so sturdy that it fell from about 6 feet onto concrete and there wasn't a knick on it. The only problem i personally have with it is that it will NOT work with the ice chamber as it's too large and tends to fall off. If used without the ice chamber it's great though. Great buy!
