I tried these coals for a change because I always use coco naras - I found that they light well, last a long time and don't change the taste of the tobacco - They do ash alot but the main problem is that they are unbelievably fragile! Much more fragile than any quicklights - - - As I light them, they already crack in half or into 4 pieces so when I need to ash them off gently in the ashtray, they break in several pieces - - - maybe I got a bad batch :
Absolutely incredible - until this product the only time I had not used quick light coals was at hookah bars - I was never very impressed with those coals so I stuck with quick light ones - Then I tried this product - absolutely no detrimental flavor from these, and much less expensive than quick light coals - They last a long time and burn very evenly - Great product -
They Don't get that black bottom after you start smoking it - Last just as long as COCONARA and i would say it has better heat management too -
I bought Gaia over coconara's soley based on the reviews here - They take about as much effort and time to light on a gas stove and seem to last a little longer than coconara's - I use three on a vortex and usually need to pull one off for heat management - There is an odor when lighting them initially, but it goes away after the coals are red - I didn't notice any difference in ashing with these or the coconaras -
First time using natural coals - - - - 2 people 3 coals on a vortex boal lasted a whole movie 90 minutes - - - totally amazing - Clean, low ash - - - - the hype is correct! Never willfully going back to other chemical-coals!
I just tried these for the first time the other day and I couldn't be happier that I bought them - Sure it takes more effort to light them than quick lights but the extra work is so worth it - For once in my years of smoking hookah the coals lasted longer than the shisha -
A pretty perfect alternative to coconaras, all I pick about is that some have been breaking off in pieces when lighting on the oven, which is rare, but other than that, they are the perfect alternative to Coconaras - : I always buy these instead of coconaras -
I got a 84 pack of Gaia natural coconut coals they take a while to light but once they get going they are riley nice - I use 4 per bowl and they work great - Would recommend if for the price - They last so long I can use all 4 for 2 packs so they burn for about an hour for me -
I use two of these coals for my mya qt w/vortex and they work great - Residual taste is minimal, if at all - They work great and are natural - what more could you want -
These work very well, they take a while to get up to temp but they last quite a long time - I use 2 coals at a time and one set of coals usually last me the entire bowl -
I have both a box of these and coconara and use them somewhat interchangeably - I notice these burn about the same amount of time and don't effect the shisha as much - Currently smoking them right now and they require less readjusting and burn a bit more consistently without that unburned blackness they form more at the bottom of coconaras during a session - Highly recommend these -
In my personal opinion, i might not notice a lot of difference in something like a blind test - however, i have noticed that they last the same amount of time, the gaia only has a little more ash, and imho the gaia adds less taste to the shisha than the coco's do - Keep up the good work with these :D
