these coals light themselves - i used a lighter and bary7l lit one side and a little stream or sparkles went from one side to the other and lit the rest of the coal - it was amazing - plus they lasted extermely longer than my old coals and i got a great hit starting at hit number one - incerdible is the only word that describes them -
These light so much faster than the coals I was using before - I can usually light the coal in my kitchen and walk the coal to my hookah with tongs, but these actually made me run!
Love these charcoals they last long and are tasteless if you do taste them then your doing something wrong - Best quicklights - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
I have been using 33mm for years and I always had to use 2 of them on a bowl - This made me run out of coals much faster - I greatly enjoy the 40mm because I can light just one on top and my bowl is good for well over an hour of delicious smooth smoke - If you're thinking about going big on your coals, DO IT
These are some of the best quick lighting coals ive used, and ive used quite a few different brands - Almost no odor, and if anything it is not a bad odor like most, rarely harsh smoke, covers basically the full bowl so its just as good as two, lights in literally 10-20 seconds with a good BIC lighter, and finishes lighting in 1 minute tops - Also, the coals usually last around 30min-1hr - Overall excellent product!!
Got a box of these the other day - Worked much better for me than the 33mm ones with my Mya - Good coals that light fast and don't break -
For those who split the coals in half before burning, I'd recommend a brand that breaks easier like Three Kings - For the people who don't split the coals in half, these work great because they won't fall apart when burning - Good quality coals -
I had been using Coco Nara coals which are fine & all but I need 2 of them to keep my hookah going. 2 rolls of these big Golden Coals came with a recent Mya hookah that I purchased. WOW! Just a second or two of exposure to open flame and the whole thing crackles all over & over the next minutes becomes hot enough to smoke with. I just added a box of 100 of these to my cart.
Unbelievably fast and easy light! Just place a new coal beside a lit coal thats dwindling down, lightly touching it and poof, it's lightly sparking and lit!
Occasionally, you will get a coal that is far from quick light, but overall these are solid coals. A pack of ten of these in a local store costs about $3, so this saves me around $1 a pack. If you're coming from the 33mm coals, be ready to have a learning curve. They don't burn hotter, but they burn more of the tobacco so your typical coal maintenance will go out the window. I have had these larger coals last over an hour and that just makes me happy.
I don't understand why these coals are rated so good. They seem to give off something that makes me sick. They are also have inconsistent quality. I found one coal that I could not light using a lighter. I had to set it on another coal to get it to go. I definitely will not be buying these again.
Some say it's quality that counts, and they do have a point. But, hey....why not get both? Bigger is better & size does matter. :o)) These great big coals are definitely bigger, better, phat...and "Golden" buy 'em.
i just got these coals today as a replacement for my usual sultan quicklites(complete crap by the way), and these were actually pretty good. alot of people like them and i can see why. they burn for a very long time and don't break easily. their also very easy to get started, granted i have a torch lighter but even still it seems like 2 seconds with that and its set and ready to smoke with in 15 seconds or so. next time however i may get the smaller ones because the 40 mm are seriously huge. one takes up almost my entire bowl and with that its hard to manage the heat as well as i would like. I would assume if i broke it up into two smaller pieces they would work just like the 30 mm's but i havn't tried that yet. all in all their very nice coals, they light fast, don't break apart on you, and stay lit for a long period of time. the only complaint i might have would be that they didn't seem to give off as much heat as some other coals but then again my first time using them was tonight. so overall i would probably give these coals a 9/10
Golden Coals are the best quality quicklight coals i have tried. They light quick, burn the longest, and are tough so they will not crumble even when getting small. -Al Fakher quicklight coals take longer to light completely, burn faster, crumble when they get smaller. These are okay but when you try Golden coals, youre hooked. -Akhla instant light coals light the fastest but, burn out the fastest, crumble the easiest, makes a lot of bad smelling coal smoke when lit. I do not recommend these.
i bought the large pieces. they are perfect. on my mini hookah 1 piece seems to last about an hour every time. light quick and don't have the nasty bbq taste to them that I've had in the past with other quick lights. I don't think ill ever use another quick light in my life.
