ok - These coals have so many negatives about it they should just be removed from the cite, one they give off the worst smell ever its so revolting that you will need to light them in a whole different area, also they ash like its there job two they don't last long due to the fact that you need to keep them on the flame so long before the whole thing lights that its uses most of the coals life - They don't stay hot for long and last around 25 mins 35 if your lucky - If your going to go with chronic coals go with the natural there the good ones -
Being so used to heat management using square shaped coals, I don't even know how to function around 3 kings and other 'puck' shaped coals - However, I had to put up with it when I needed coals for parties and occasions where I wouldn't be around a coil burner - I saw these at a small local shop and decided to get em - I must say, these are excellent for when I'm not able to use my Coco Naras - I use them in the same formation as my natural coals and they work about the same - There are, however, a few complaints - These don't produce nearly as much heat as other coconut coals - My solution is a windcover, but that can be a hassle sometimes - They also ash quite a bit - In fact, the odd thing about these coals is that there seems to be no distinct separation between the white ash and the glowing red part - It all just seems to crumble at once - So I would recommend not ashing it, and if you do, do it CAREFULLY - The third thing - Getting these to light is gonna present a challenge - I would highly recommend getting a micro torch lighter - These don't light well with a soft flame from any bic or zippo - I have found that if you hold a soft flame to an edge of it and gently blow, it'll get going, but these don't light as quickly as say, 3Kings - I will be investing in a torch lighter soon - Oh and they smell quite a bit when lighting; not all that different from a campfire - So please, if you want to be a courteous smoker, don't dare light these indoors or around 'sensitive' people - And my last complaint is the fact that the smoke output dies down prematurely - There will still be a substantial amount of glowing coal left, and I'll be getting barely any smoke - Again, a windcover helps a little, but not much - All in all, I would say that these are pretty cool coals - I think I have finally learned the proper technique to get these coals to smoke well and long - Despite the obstacles, these have definitely made themselves a permanent feature in my hookah case :
So don't you hate that smell and taste of those artificial black "charcoal" coals? - - - But we have to deal with it if we don't want to spend 10 minutes in front of a stove for naturals - Wait what? - - - - A natural quick lighting coal!? throws crappy coals out the window Here you have natural coals, that light quickly and awesomely!!! - I have a torch lighter - These smell great and light themselves literally on fire! - Its an awesome show, it smells good lighting, and it burns nice - I do wish they lasted longer, but they definitely kick artificials in every other category - Must buy!
gonna make this short and sweet, kinda smokey when they light up but after that its just like a natural, no taste and last forever - i wont use any other coal again -
I thought these would be a great instant light because of the reviews and shape, but I ended up not being pleased - I had to wait and light the entire coal, otherwise it would just stop burning - They also gave off more of a coal taste than other quick lights that I have used before - The coals left a lot of ashes and burnt quick as well -
You absolutely must use a cover with these - They will not burn hot enough and you will be stuck with a hookah and a cold coal! If you use them correctly, they do produce good smoke, and last for ~25 minutes - Cheers
I really liked this quick light coal and I've tried a lot of the disc shaped varieties - However, when you first light it, it actually "fires off" and can flame up if you hold the lighter to it for too long - Once the coal completely lights, however, it lasts a good 25 minutes before you need to add another - This is probably my favorite kind of quick light coal -
I was thoroughly disappointed by these coals - I ordered a box of 108 and I've been through about 30 and still cannot get them to work right - They light easily enough with a normal lighter, but they don't burn very hot - I tried everything after discovering this - I tried lighting them with a torch lighter - That didn't work - I tried lighting them with a stovetop, and that didn't work either - I am simply unable to get these to burn at a workable temperature - They don't produce as much smoke as an instant-light coal would - I have much more success with Three Kings or Al Fakher coals -
Firstly, coal number one smoked like crazy! they smell like unscented inscents which is a lot better than the round insta-lights - Coal number two i kept under constant lighter fire and there was no smoke; still a lot of odor, but not near as much as the first - With that said, these coals will get you smoking in about three good puffs, crazy hot! They are also flavorless making the smoking experience that much better - I also think the price is on par with any other coal so give a box a try, you shouldn't be disappointed!
I don't get why people are saying these aren't instant light coals - I don't have any problem lighting them with a lighter - great coals, I use 2 on a vortex bowl and even with a wet shisha like fantasia i get great smoke, not harsh at all - I also like the shape much better than round coals - I will buy more -
Great coals - Tasteless, and only smell upon initial lighting - However, i dont understand why everyone reviewing this says it cannot be lit with a standard lighter - I can light mine in about 30 seconds, and in one of sambookas videos, he demostrates it being lit with a lighter in about 10 seconds - not so hard
I bought these coals a while back when they were a featured item - I thought they were great, although my friends didn't think the same saying that it left a bad tast, which it didn't - However, like others have said i would also recomend usng a torch to light them and they also do produce quite a bit of smoke when initially lit so lighting them so i wouldn't recomend lighting them inside a house - They last long, longer than any other instant light i've tried and they burn pretty hot too - Highly recomended product
For such cheap instant light coals these are absolutely amazing! They light insanely fast and burn long and well! A must buy for any hookah smoker!
I only use quick lighting coals because I don't have any other way to light ntural coals where I live and these are by far the best - I light them with a plain lighter and within the minute they're fully lit - They barely ash either which is a plus - I love them - They don't smell or tatse funky either - 2 thumbs up guys!
These coals are amazing - They light up very quickly they're quite hot though still trying to get the right mix but I love it - Smoking it right now :
