I have been smoking from instant lights for a few year, about 4 - They were cheap and easy so never felt right to change - , untill i started getting sick off them - Ive tryed 3 types of natural coal and so far thease are the best - Like most nat caols they take a while to light - But its worth the wait - I don't get a sick feeling - They seem to produce a good amount of heat so i find that 1 to two coals are all i need - They ash more than i would like from a nat coal, but only if they get moved, or dropped onto the plate - They fall apart easy so don't drop them on the plate to ash - Treat them like instant lights and just move the ash off like ql's - You don't have to flip them at all - I might stick with them for a while cause the shop that sells all my hookah stuff sells a small amount of coals, so its hard to find many types -
I wasn't able to get all the information I wanted to in the 60 seconds, so here is some side notes: To prevent the coal from breaking, start the heat on the top of the coal, and then the last 30 seconds to minute flip the coal right side up on the burner to start the underside; it with light up quick and prevent the coal from breaking. Since these coals are slightly bigger than other cubed coals, it sits weird on regular sized bowls, and keeping the coals in one spot will cache the tobacco, leaving uncooked shisha to waste. I recommend one 90deg rotation half way through the session to get the whole bowl.
To begin, I have been smoking hookah for over 3 years and am from Egypt, where hookah is a much more typical custom - I have used all the different types of coals, from quick-lights to coco naras and lemonwood, so I had to try these once I saw them - I have used them for quite a few sessions on my Khalil Mamoon Shareef as well as my Mya's and this is what I can conclude regarding these coals: they are far better than quick-lights, which I STRONGLY do not suggest to anyone, no matter what, but they are not as good as the coco naras - I would actually compare them, perhaps, to the lemonwood coals because of the ash that they produce but to the coco naras due to the issue of time required to light as well as some odor given off, although these coals give off a more potent odor than the coco nara's - Another issue, and my biggest, with these coals is that the smoke is not very thick - Perhaps it is due to the lack of surface on which the coal is actually touching, even though they are rather large coals, but I have had too much trouble getting the quality of smoke out of these coals that I do with coco nara's or lemonwood coals - A benefit, and perhaps the greatest quality, of these coals is the length of time that they last as well as the fact that you only need to rotate them once - For that reason, and really that reason alone, I am giving these coals a "good" review, but I do suggest, especially for the money that these cost, to stick to your coco nara's and lemonwoods - And always, Always, ALWAYS stay away from quick-lights - They are only slightly worse than BBQ coals - Anyways, like I said earlier, these coals aren't bad, but they're not worth the money in the end -
i put 2 coals on a maya thunder or 3 on my egyptian king tut and by the time the bowl is kashed the ash tray is almost full and there is a mess everywhere - we smoke about 3 bowls a day or more in my place so we go through alot of them - they will also break on the burner or just sitting on the foil - coconara is alot better
At first i thought these coals were good, but, after using almost a whole box, i started to notice the strong coal taste, and the headaches - Its a wood based charcoal, so i think i might be overly sensitive to that - Trying coconaras and seeing how these compare -
I just bought these today and just had to try em out - Sure it takes a bit longer to get it started and you need a burner but it smokes so well - My shisha didn't even burn and when I smoked it, it was so much smoother and I didn't taste charcoal AT ALL - I use to use Three kings Quick Lights, and I don't wanna go back - I love these charcoals I just wish i got em off the site for cheaper -
Pretty good coals, bit larger than most naturals - Good heat and no taste - The only negative is the amount of ash it creates - Besides the ash they are good coals, and they last over an hour in my experience -
I've been smoking hooka for a few years now and own four hookahs in different sizes - I recently saw a deal on this website for 3 boxes of Fantasia Coals and decided to give it a shot - They are pretty long lasting, heat evenly, and often you can get away with only one coal for a ton of smoke - They are easy to light on the stove as well and since they are natural, they do not affect the taste of the tobacco - The only down-side is that the produce a ton of ash throughout the smoke session -
These coals are very awesome - We've been smoking for 7 years and get some of the best heat management and clouds from these coals than any other - Coconaras were our coal of choice before these - 2 on a Vortex bowl is perfect - You won't be sorry!
I normally use coco nara but I decided to try these out - In my opinion they're much better - I only have to use 2 coals as opposed to 3 for coco nara - They take about the same time to heat up and produce a lot more ash - But they burn super smooth and consistent It says there is no need to rotate and I guess that's true if you're just doing a single 45 minute session - But if you smoke your bowl longer like I do with tangiers then you'll need to rotate the next set of coals - Basically - - buy these things and give em a try -
I got these coals and they are very nice - i dont know how the compare to coco nara yet but they will take a little getting used to - they are bigger then them - the burn very clean and dont add any flavor to the shisha -
These are the best coals I have ever used - Seriously - The only thing i would knock them for is that they do ash a bit, but not too much - But you still get great airflow, they last a good while, and no smell - I just wish they would come in 90 pcs - boxes - I am sold on these for sure - Yes better than Ccoa nara and Chronik Hookah coals - - - - - the best -
I thought I would give these a try after hearing all the hype about them - These coals work just as advertised - You don't have to ash or rotate them - They don't take too long to heat up on the stove and easily last an hour - I put two on a vortex bowl and it was smooth the entire duration - By far the best coals I have used yes, even better than Coconara in my opinion!
The best coals I have ever used, Im smoking using the coals, FANTASTIC =]
