After smoking these Coconut Charcoals, I can never go back to quick lites ever again. The smoke just taste better, its more natural and doesn't have that taste of smoke as you would with any quick lites. Also, Coco Naras ash very evenly. A++ I wont use any other charcoal but these!
takes too long to light, i just cant be bothered!
I just finished smoking my first sesh with coco nara coals and....I'm never going back to quicklights....this is amazing. They burn forever, don't ash, and don't make the hookah taste like crap. Mmmmmmmmm.
Taste is fine, duration is so-so, but holy mother of beer, do these things take FOR-EVER to light. And I use a propane torch. That and they are hard to keep lit unless you spent five minutes on them with a torch. AND they spark like crazy if you blow on them. Nice size, decent price, fine is you light yours on a stove perhaps, but my tongs get hot and I cant afford the bottles of propane this would drain me of. Another round of coal wars goes to Exotica. Trust me people, you want Exotica.
I bought these coals a long time ago, and after trying several other brands...I'm coming back to these. They do take a while to get going, but it's worth it. You don't taste charcoal while smoking your shisha. Golden Coast, Romman, Exotica...bunk: a) CO2 levels are SOO high in Golden Coast and Exotica coals, b) Romman Lemonwood Coals aren't worth it because they come in random chunks that are almost impossible to not shatter. Instant-light coals are quite possibly the dumbest idea, spend the 7 minutes or so that it takes to get the coal red-hot and you'll be glad you did.
Bought the 16 piece box on my last order and this coal sucks..i threw them away ..don't ever buy this coal and save your money....the free coals which came with my hookah(golden coals) are 1000 times better...they light up fast and does the job..
First off, all of the people that complained that they were hard to light. Your supposed to light them on the stove, butane lighters suck at lighting natural coals, if you dont have a stove dont use natural coals... Second, Taste, I've never noticed any taste from COCOnara but everything tastes like something to someone, depending on your sensitivity to certain flavors you might or might not be able to taste these. In my experience most people dont taste them at all.
AMAZING, BEST COALS ON THE MARKET AT THE MOMENT AND A MUST FOR THE REGULAR SMOKER....
These are the best natural coals on the market. Virtually no taste or smell and they last between 30-40 minutes on one coal. Great heat as well. These are a must have for the Pro smoker.
The good: These coals burn very clean with little ash and add no flavor to the smoke. They are also easier to light than some of the other natural coals. The bad: While they do burn for quite a while they stop producing good heat by the time they burn about half way down. The fact that they are square in shape may contribute to the pore heating. This means that you must use more coals to keep a good smoke and as you only get 16 pieces per box this adds up to an expensive smoke. If you have the money go for it otherwise not worth it. The Romman coals are messy and come in very odd shapes and sizes and can take a while to get them properly lit. If you don't light them properly they can add a bad taste to the smoke and give you quite a headache. If set up right however I find them to be the best of the natural coals. The Al Ajdad coals are a waste of time. I can't think of any good quality's that they poses.
Bought the 16 piece box on my last order and am sorry I didn’t get the 84 piece box. They don’t take too much longer to get going than quick lights (which are supposed to be used once they’ve become fully lit/ashy for best results) and have much better heat control. Didn’t have harshness with any of the bowls I used, where as the quick light coals I used yesterday (all I had left) went harsh after only a few minutes, which made a more labor-intensive session of moving the coals to maintain proper heat. Agree 100% with the no odor or taste too. These will be my go-to coals from now on!
Very comparable to exotica coals for those that have used them. These little coals pack a big punch with at least 1 1/2 or so of burn time. However they do take a bit to lite, so I don't recommend using butane.
I tried Coca Nara coals for the first time with a Phunnel bowl. They are a perfect fit (I used three for about 1 1/2 hours of Al-Waha shisha smoking) for the Phunnel bowl and would work well on normal bowls as well. The shisha smoke was thick and the coals didn't taint the taste.
I don't know what Ankit and Ein are smoking because I have tried the quick lights the Al Ajdad and the Exotica coals. These are by far the most tasteless and least stinky oh and they last almost and hour and a half. If you don't light them correctly then you are are not in for a good session. You just need to leave them on the stove until they are half red then flip them and leave them for another minute and then it is perfect! I thought the exotica coals were horrible tasting for about 5 minutes until that entire first layer is gone and by that time you only half like a half hour of smoking. I find that with my mod bowl it is best to use 2 sets of 3 coals per session. Never more because you will burn your shisha.
I do not care for these, I find they are hard to lite and the smoke taste odd.
