these coals are really good if you light um right! light um points down first then flip um when coal is about half lit, this will prevent cracks - smokes great and doesn't smell bad at all :D

Bad 		"Half and half"

We really liked these coals, the vent design is great, they lasted a long time and were clean burning with no smell or taste but my husband and I both got terrible headaches 10 minutes in and one in three boxes we bought cracked in half when lit,which defeated the purpose of the signature 'vent'
