Shisha Review: Golden Layalina Shisha Tobacco - Chicago Special By Jono / May 18, 2011 share Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest Email Share... What exactly is Chicago special for? Well, let's see: the Cubs, the Bulls, the Bears, the White Sox, the band Chicago, their pizza, and their shisha tobacco. Wait. That can't be right. I can't seem to figure out why Golden Layalina decided to name this shisha flavor Chicago Special. Usually, in situations like this, we would look in the direction of mixed drinks. However, I only found one link that said anything about Chicago Special being a drink, and it claimed bourbon, Jack Daniels, orange juice, and vanilla extract as its ingredients. At least now we have a basis to judge from. The smell of Golden Layalina Chicago Special shisha tobacco is tart, sweet, fruity with a dark cherry vibe, and mildly floral. And while the tin is in your hand, you may want to go ahead and grab your Vortex Bowl, because this stuff is juicy! So let's smoke a little Chicago Special and see if it lives up to the standards of the one bartender that actually knows what a Chicago Special is. I think the first thing you'll notice is the fact that there isn't a pinch of orange in this at all, like the drink recipe suggests. It's actually a nice cherry flavor with a hint of vanilla. If there are any traces of floral flavor in this, I didn't notice. Golden Layalina Chicago Special is a nice change of pace from the norm, giving you a break from the typical and uninteresting. Honestly, I think Golden Layalina was merely trying to redefine what a Chicago Special is, exchanging what it is for what it should be. Have you tried it?
