Alpaca The Apache Bowl

What happens when a phunnel and Egyptian bowl have baby? You receive a beautiful accessory that identifies as an Apache. The Alpaca Bowl Company restored a classic bowl design, using a common phunnel bowl style with some aspects of the traditional Egyptian bowls. These bowls are handcrafted here in the US, with American clay and long lasting lead free glazes.

OG Apache Bowl Features

This unique phunnel bowl contains a raised center plate that features multiple air channels. The higher central spire allows your shisha juices to stay inside your bowl, because no one likes leaks in the stem or base.

As you pull heat in across your tobacco an even flow of air passes through the shisha for an evenly cooked bowl. You can achieve a great session simply by filling the phunnel interior with a sprinkle or dense pack depending on your choice of tobacco.

Keep your air channels open to prevent any blockage and achieve those big 'ol clouds. Our standard setup with the Apache features 3 cube sizedCocobrico coals on top of drum tight foil.

How To Use A Bowl Grommet

We recommend using the Rook bowl with a mod bowl grommet to ensure a tight seal.

"This bowl is special"
Braxton Hutchins on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 4:42:01 PM

First thing is first, this bowl was heavier than I thought it would be and is best suited for a hookah set up of standard-ish size - Also, a 3 coal placement is ideal on this bowl - The physics of 6 or 7 holes being centered on a spire automatically creates a set of directional air channels which allows for air to be pulled pretty evenly - The raised center and multi holed spire makes it super versatile, any kind of tobacco can be enjoyed - It's easily a new favorite

"Alpaca Apache bowl"

Didn't like it at all - The top of the bowl isn't straight, the shisha doesn't burn though, the amount of smoke is small compared to cheaper bowls - I was expecting much better for a bowl that costs that much -

"Good bowl"
Alan Melamed on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 12:36:56 PM

I received this as part of a Grab Bag and whereas I have been using Kaloud bowls for a while, I thought I would switch it up and go "old school" with the Alpaca Apache - In short, the bowl does what it is supposed to do, it heats up well, and keeps the juices in the bowl, but I discovered a few things that certainly limit it's utility, at least to me - First, you can't use the Kaloud lotus with this - - - well, you can, but it will take a lot longer to heat up the bowl - - - and second, I realized that there was nothing great about going back to foil other than nostalgia - While I like the bowl, I'm sad to say that I won't be using it all that much as I generally use the Kaloud Lotus along with the Kaloud bowls that I have - However, that being said, it's good to know that IF I want to go back to foil that I can -

"good Quality product"
Sniper on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 2:53:20 AM

It's a phunnel bowl with a modified centre air passage - The bowl is made very well & sturdy with a good weight to it - It holds heat rather well allowing the tobacco to cook from the bowl walls as well - This bowl will need extra grommets & does make small to medium hookahs top heavy - Overall aesthetics are done to my liking and knowing that it’s a limited edition is a plus H-S birthday bowl - Traditional shisha on a semi dense pack will go about 60 minutes with 2- 3 flats whilst modern shisha can go for 90 -120 minutes - I used S - B vintage which went 2 rounds of coal roughly 140 minutes with 3 coals per round -
