The Mini Hilal measures 22.5" tall with a completely solid mid section featuring a crescent moon (Hilal- Arabic for crescent moon), and a weighted smooth polished star. The collection of Shika Hookahs never leaves the warehouse without passing a full inspection, leaving you with a beautiful setup without the flaws.

These wide bore channels allow for a restriction free smoke experience, with a inhale that almost feels like you're breathing. So bust out the #Cloudcontest hashtag, and take first place with this Mini Hilal.
Mini Hilal Hand Etched Design
When you have this hookah set up on the ground, the first bit of detail that you'll visualize will be a coal tray. This Turkish inspired tray has more than a full day's work of detail, and all of this comes from steady, skilled hands. The tray alone may weigh a little more than some of the hookahs in your cabinets, and don't worry about any detail fading because this is carved brass that we are talking about.
In between the main focal point of the mid section, you'll see an emphasis on the hand-worked detail applied to the surrounding areas. The flawless hand etched designs receive a bold rustic black finish, making it pop under any lighting. Since these are all handmade each Mini Hilal has a unique detail, so no two are alike.
Shika Hookahs Materials
All of the Shika hookahs utilize high quality brass metal as the main component in the build of each shaft. This material never becomes a victim to rust or corrosion, so you can smoke from your setup 1 year from now and it will still produce a full flavor session. The medical field tends to pick Brass over other metals because of it's superior hygienic proprieties, and we all know that clean smoke is the best smoke, right?
The Crescent Moon & Star - a History
The moon and star symbols adorned on the stem of the Shika Farouk hookah are often associated with Islam, but the history of the Crescent Moon and Star is far older than its popularity with the Islamic faith. It dates back to ancient Palestine, to a group known as the Moabites (14th/13th century - 6th century BC) who used the symbol as a seal. The crescent moon and star (or stars) were commonly found as seals, on coins, etc., throughout the region for centuries.
The crescent moon and star symbol was found in Palestine, Byzantium (Constantinople/Istanbul), Persia (Iran), parts of ancient Greece and early Rome, and even as far east as India as a part of the Mughal Empire.
Finally, after thousands of years, the crescent symbol - without the star - was first found on Muslim flags during the Crusades. Depictions of the symbol appear in depictions of the flags from the 14th century.
The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (1628-1658) had the crescent moon and star symbol inlaid on his personal shield, and his son Aurangzeb is known to have used it in Mughal flags and sheilds. However the Mughals used the symbol featuring an upward facing crescent moon - quite like the one found on the Shika Hilal Hookah
The crescent moon and star symbol we are familiar with today first appeared on flags of the Ottoman Empire in the 18th and 19th centuries. The symbol now adorns the flags of numerous countries, organizations, territories, and several hookahs!
