You know what, we're just going to come out and say it. We LOVE the aesthetics that Starbuzz offers up in one of their newest products: the Bee Head bowl. Taking inspiration from nature, Starbuzz has crafted a hookah bowl that immediately reminds us of a bee hive! And considering that one of the main ingredients in shisha tobacco is honey, we found that they couldn't have picked a more "on the nose" name for this accessory.
A clever name and attention grabbing design are not the only things that this bowl has to offer. Hand forged in the fire of artisan kilns, the thick, high quality compressed clay will hold heat exceptionally well, and will ensure that the heat from your charcoal will be evenly transferred to your shisha throughout your entire session. The dark brown, walnut color glaze is not only gorgeous, but also protects the clay from absorbing flavor (otherwise known as "flavor ghosting).
Once your bowl has cooled down enough to handle, give it a quick rinse, and you'll be all set to pack a fresh session. There are a couple key features of this piece that really set it apart for us. The "dish" of this bowl features a traditional style "Egyptian" design, meaning there are several holes on the bottom, and according to Starbuzz, you can pack a whopping 50 GRAMS of shisha into this bowl.
Due to it's larger capacity, we recommend this bowl for when you want a longer smoke session. This type of design works best with "blonde leaf" tobacco that is meant to be lightly sprinkled in the bowl, without needing to "dense pack" or press the tobacco down. Just lightly sprinkle the tobacco in using your fingers, filling it up to just under the outer edge, and you should be set!
Once you've packed the tobacco in the bowl, you'll come across another fantastic feature! Because this bowl is 3 inches in diameter, it is compatible with either aluminum foil or heat management devices (HMD), such as the Kaloud Lotus Plus. This gives the bowl great versatility when it comes to your preferred heat manager, allowing you to go the more traditional route of aluminum foil, or bypass foil altogether and slap a modern HMD right on top.
