Hookah Hoses

A hookah hose is one of the main pieces of equipment needed for a hookah to function properly. They are typically characterized as having a long, flexible hose tubing and a handle of some sort. Hoses are used to transfer shisha smoke from the base of your hookah to your mouth by inhaling on one end.

Hookah hoses can be made from a wide range of materials such as aluminum, plastic, resin, silicone, glass, and more. Some more traditional hose styles are even made from vinyl-wrapped leather!

For the most part, yes, hookah hoses are universal and can be used across a variety of different hookah pipes. That being said, there are some rare exceptions such as custom hookahs or hoses that come with some glass models. Depending on the style of your hookah's hose port, a different type of rubber hose grommet may be needed to ensure a good seal between your hookah and hose.

Some hookah hoses are washable however others may not be. Whether or not you can wash your hose with water ultimately depends on the materials used to make it. For example, hoses with silicone hose tubing are completely washable while more traditional style, leather-wrapped hoses are typically not. If your hose is washable, simply run hot water through it after each smoke session to remove any stained - or "ghosted" - flavor and to help prolong its overall life. For a deeper clean on stubborn flavors, use some lemon juice and baking soda in your hose. Thoroughly rinse with hot water afterward to eliminate any leftover cleaning solutions trapped inside your hose tubing. Once clean, use it immediately or hang it up and allow it to dry completely.
